A paper advertisement for the Star Wars exhibition that was at Center for the Arts, now known as YBCA. I went once with my parents and a second time with my college boyfriend. Was I a nerd. I still have the pencil case my mom bought me at the gift shop. And note the uber gothic book I was reading. It was the first time I read a book with cultural references I could relate to. Faded club stamps, ripped fishnets, doc martens, manic panic dye, boys wearing eyeliner, Bauhaus, Joy Division, and chipped black nail polish.
